1- NRDC, CCRAS inks MoA to commercialise ayurvedic medicines

National Research Development Corporation (NRDC) and Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS) have inked Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) to commercialise ayurvedic medicines and technologies developed at CCRAS.

The MoA was signed by Director General of CCRAS Abhimanyu Kumar and Chairman & Managing Director of NRDC H Purushotham. The scope of MoA also includes providing Intellectual Property Rights services to CCRAS in India and abroad.

NRDC already has played key role in transferring more than 10 technologies developed at CCRAS to more than 50 entrepreneurs and industry. It had helped both the organisations to earn a substantial amount of revenue.

CCRAS is an apex Body in India constituted for the formulation, development, co-ordination and promotion of research in Ayurveda on scientific lines. It is an autonomous organisation under the AYUSH Department of Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

While, NDRC functions and operates under the ageis of Union Ministry of Science and Technology.

At present, Ayurvedic Medicines commercialised by NRDC and developed by CCRAS are available to the public for the treatment of different diseases at an affordable price.

2- Former Bihar CM Ram Sundar Das passes away

Former Bihar CM Ram Sundar Das

Former Bihar Chief Minister (CM) Ram Sundar Das passed away on 6 March 2015 in Patna. He was 95.

Das was a leader of the Janata Dal (United) political party and had led the JDU government as the Chief Minister of Bihar from 21 April 1979 to 17 February 1980. He was elected from Hajipur constituency in Bihar to the 10th Lok Sabha in 1991 and was re-elected to the 15th Lok Sabha from the same constituency in 2009.

However in 2014 Lok Sabha, he was defeated by present Union Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Ram Vilas Paswan after he contested from Hajipur constituency.

Das is survived by one daughter and two sons . His wife passed away earlier.

3- Prime Minister Narendra Modi named among 30 most influential people on internet: Time Magazine

Time Magazine has named Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi among the list of 30 most influential people on the internet.

As per Time magazine

  • PM Narendra Modi has around 38 million followers on social networking sites Twitter and Facebook.
  • He is ardent user of social media and uses it to communicate and reach to India’s 200 million-plus online population directly.
  • However PM Narendra Modi is behind US President Barack who is also in the list and most-liked world leader on Facebook and the most-followed on Twitter.

The list also includes British author J K Rowling of the Harry Potter series, singers Beyonce and Taylor Swift.

Time Magazine‘s 30 most influential people list on internet was prepared by analyzing the social-media followings, site traffic and overall ability to drive news of famous people.
